My favorite part of being a photographer is that I get to have a continued relationship with my clients and often we become friends. With children especially, it’s important for them to be comfortable so their personalities come out. They can laugh, run and play. Parents can relax and just hold hands and talk. The child that I have photographed for 10 years gets to her senior pictures and I can make sure her hair is just right, I know when a smile is real and we laugh at our own inside jokes.
I have experience with people of all ages: babysitting, teaching, volunteering with youth groups, building intergenerational relationships; I love hearing the wisdom of those who have gone before me. Being able to navigate between infants, teens and adults can be tricky sometimes, but the variety and unpredictability are things that I embrace about the job!
